Handweaving is an art form, ever ancient ever new, with roots in Old Testament tradition. In Exodus 36 we read that the first vestments and altar hangings were "woven of violet, purple and scarlet yarn and of fine linen twined."Maryweave is the work of a small contemplative community of Discalced Carmelite Nuns located in the peaceful, rural beauty of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Our hand-woven church vestments reflect the natural setting in which we live. Especially featured are unique clergy stole designs for both priest and deacon handwoven in handspun wool.
Chasubles and Dalmatics are also available.
